A YOUTH EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOP SERIES

13 REASONS WHY I CAN LOVE MYSELF

13 RAZONES PARA VIVIR

Casa de la Familia hosts a weekly youth workshop series facilitated by a CDLF therapist for all youth ages 12-18 throughout Orange and Los Angeles Counties. You do not need to be a survivor of abuse or assault to participate.

Join

The goal of this workshop series is to alleviate the devastating effects of sexual abuse and/or assault on the lives of Latino youth victims ages 12-18 and increase their access to existing services.

Some staggering statistics:

  • One in four girls and one in six boys will be sexually abused before they turn 18 years old.
  • 30% of women were between the ages of 11 and 17 at the time of their first completed rape.
  • 12.3% of women were age 10 or younger at the time of their first completed rape victimization.
  • In eight out of 10 cases of rape, the victim knew the perpetrator.
  • It is estimated that 325,000 children per year are currently at risk of becoming victims of commercial child sexual exploitation.
